Piero

Piero is a typeface I designed, based on transitional serifs of the 19th and 20th centuries. Inspired by the utilitarian demands of high-speed, economical printing present in the industrial age, the design features reduced contrast and sturdier forms while the slightly wider proportions maintain some of the bookish quality of older serifs. The result is a versatile typeface with a softer texture in body copy compared to its historical reference points.
